Being a group of property tragics, we are always checking out amazing houses around the world just for fun.  This week we looked at some of the most expensive houses both here and abroad.

Looking at our own backyard, the most expensive sale in Brisbane was a riverfront home in Hawthorne in 2017 for $18,500,000 just pipping the previous highest sale on Leopard St Kangaroo Point for $18,488,888 in 2016.  If you love this house and missed out last time it sold then give us a call – it is now back on the market!

In 2019,  the price leaders are rumoured to be a private home in Tennyson at over $16 million and  a stunning apartment in New Farm for $6 million.

Just down the road on the Gold Coast, we are keeping a close eye on a current listing on Sovereign Island where a 7 bedroom home is listed for sale with an asking price of US$30 million!

In Sydney the priciest apartment sale was in Tower 1 in One Sydney Harbour for $140 million and the most expensive home Fairwater, Point Piper in 2018 for $100 million

Do you know what the top 5 most expensive homes in the world are estimated to be worth?

1. Buckingham Palace estimated at $1.55 Billion (the White House is estimated at $450 million by comparison)
2. Antilia, Mumbai estimated at $1 Billion and the most expensive private residence in the world
3. Villa Leopolda, France estimated at $750 million
4. Witanhurst, London estimated at $450 million
5. Oedeon Tower Penthouse, Monaco estimated at $400 million

These are huge numbers, and properties most of us can only dream about.  Whatever your budget, paying the right price is critical.  A small mistake on price – or even worse buying the wrong property – could set you back for years.
